Eyeball X-Y movements

In this section we will setup in Botszy the up-down and left-right movement of the pupil. From the previous parts you should have a complete mechanism with the control board connected to the PC

Setup the channel names

We will use channels 0 and 1 of the control board to control each of the servos. Connect the servos to the controller ensuring that the black wire is towards the edge of the board.

After this step, open the channel settings for the output device and set the names of these new channels to "Eye X" and "Eye Y".

Setting the servo limits

After naming the channels, the next step is to configure them with the correct direction and movement range. Please use the following settings:

For "Eye X"

  1. Direction to "normal"
  2. Minimum range to the limit of the looking-left position.
  3. Maximum range to the limit of the looking-right position.

For the "Eye Y"

  1. Direction to "Normal"
  2. Minimum range to the limit of the looking-down position.
  3. Maximum range to the limit of the looking-up position.

After setting up the two channels, assign an input channel to both using the Joystick X and Y channels. Next check the movement and make any necessary corrections to keep the movement inside the correct range with the pupil centered in the neutral position.
